I did an interview to an uncle named, Lazim bin Ismail.
Basically on this post I’m going to talk about this talented man and today’s
post is only a sneak peak of what I have done during the interview. He’s a
batik painter who have been doing batik painting ever since he we was young. He’s
a 50 years old man and batik painting is his full time job, this talented man
was born and raised in Muar, Johor. He lives in Rawang. Encik Lazim started
doing batik based on hobby, he did batik for fun and so he went to Terengganu
to get a certificate for a year and half.
Encik Lazim has been
working in Jalan Conlay for 16 years now. Other than making batik painting, he
also makes craft works such as bookmarks, handkerchiefs and he usually gets
order for batik painting. Prices for his artworks are based on how details his
batik will be. He says that batik is something that should be appreciated and
he really passionate in doing whatever he’s doing now and i can see so much
love when he did his artwork.
Other than making batik painting, he also opens up classes
for people who interested in doing batik. It could be kids or anyone who’s
interested in doing it. He loves the facts that there are people out there who
still interested in doing batik so he doesn’t mind sharing experience to
others. That’s all for now, there’s more to come.
